Update #4 (11.01.2017):

Hello everyone,

development of the mod continues and we've been able to solve some more issues. We now have the second minor update to the client and server files ready for you.

Here's a quick list of changes in version beta 0.9.6

  • Fixed a caching issue introduced in client 0.9.5 what would prevent players from connecting to a server when the existing cached client packages differ from the content on the server
  • Changed some code to prevent possible dead locks
  • Possible fix for server crashes introduced in 0.9.5 due to changes in event timing
    • We were not able to reproduce this issue internally, so we can't say for sure that it's fixed
  • Fixed an issue that caused linux crash dumps to not be uploaded to our server

Update #3 (08.01.2017):

We have released an update to the beta. Click here to see information on the update

Update #2 (06.01.2017):
We hope that most of you are enjoying JC3:MP so far. We have noticed that some people can not get the mod to run at all - we are currently investigating these issues and hope to push out a client update soonish. Please be patient. ;)

Update #1 (06.01.2017):

Hello everybody,
The administrative issues have been fully resolved and we are finally able to unhide this release post. The mod has been released and can be grabbed directly from our main page at http://just-cause.mp/

Have fun playing, hoping to see many of you ingame very shortly!

Original post:

Exactly one year after the initial development blog on JC3:MP we are now finally able to ship our very first public version. After hours and hours of developing, testing and keeping all of you up to date we are extremely happy to celebrate this release with you.

First of all, we would like to say "thank you" to all our testers and all the various YouTubers sharing our development: You have have always been supporting us in the background since the first preview and constantly gave us really valuable feedback.
Secondly we would also like to thank Square Enix and Avalanche Studios for their tremendous support: It's an honor working together with you.
Last but not least we would like to thank the whole community for their patience and passion: Seeing you guys always eagerly waiting for the next devblog on Discord shows some real dedication towards our project and kept us going forward even in the harder weeks and months of development. To simply put it in words: You guys & girls rock!

This beta release will mark the beginning and not the ending of our journey on creating the best multiplayer sandbox experience for any open-world game. Over the next couple of weeks and months we will be improving upon this beta release, add new functions and extend the possibilities of what you can do even further: We are just getting started.

This release allows for full usage of our client and server software, including our API. In accordance with our testing team we have concentrated on shipping a good feature-set allowing for extensive gamemodes to be created. If you are missing any feature, which is very important  to realise your own gamemode, be sure to let us know - we will look into each and every request.

So anyways: Have a great Christmas Holiday and hope to see all of you ingame very shortly!

Known issues/important to know
- Some scripting functions may not always work as inteded. We have marked those as "unstable" in our scripting documentary.
- There is currently no automatic updater. Builds have to be downloaded directly from our homepage.
- Some gamemodes/packages available on our gitlab repositories are not fully finished yet.
- World damage is not synchronised yet and grappling hook wiring has been disabled.
- There may be issues with CEF UIs when running Teamviewer in the background.
- Servers may not be hosted or rented commercially till our full-release following in January. For further information on that matter please consult our EULA.

Try running as root as a test. It can be that there are still issues on unsupported distros.

Fixed that too (I think), now getting these errors:

/home/jcmp/Server/Server: /usr/lib/libssl.so.1.0.0: no version information available (required by /home/jcmp/Server/lib.target/libHttp.so)
/home/jcmp/Server/Server: /usr/lib/libssl.so.1.0.0: no version information available (required by /home/jcmp/Server/lib.target/libHttp.so)
/home/jcmp/Server/Server: /usr/lib/libssl.so.1.0.0: no version information available (required by /home/jcmp/Server/lib.target/libHttp.so)
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::out_of_range'
  what():  basic_string::substr: __pos (which is 18446744073709551615) > this->size() (which is 0)
terminate called recursively

Also Server.log is telling me:
"No 'config.json' found. Creating default config file ('config.json')."
But there is still no config.json :S
